Don't Wait When It Hurts

Dental emergencies don't keep office hours, but ignoring them can turn a small problem into a serious one. If you have severe pain, swelling, bleeding, or a knocked-out tooth, call us first. We'll triage over the phone and get you seen fast.

For most emergencies, calling your dentist is faster and more effective than going to the ER, and a fraction of the cost.

  • Severe or persistent toothache
  • Knocked-out, loose, or broken tooth
  • Lost or damaged crown or filling
  • Swelling, abscess, or facial pain
  • Broken denture or wire from braces

What We Handle Fast

Whatever's happening, we've seen it before, and we have a calm plan to help.

Severe Toothache

Throbbing, sharp, or constant pain, often a sign of infection that needs immediate attention.

Broken/Chipped Tooth

Save the piece if you can. We can often repair the tooth same-day with bonding or a crown.

Knocked-Out Tooth

Time matters. Keep the tooth moist (in milk or saline) and call us immediately. Re-implantation may be possible.

Swelling Or Abscess

Facial swelling can signal a serious infection. Call us. We'll get you in quickly to drain and treat it.

Lost Crown Or Filling

Can usually be re-cemented or replaced same-day. Don't try to glue it yourself.

Broken Denture

We can repair most dentures quickly so you're not without your smile for long.

What To Do Right Now

Before you reach our office, here's how to manage common emergencies. Not sure your pain is an emergency? Read what your tooth pain means.

For Toothache

Rinse with warm salt water and floss gently to remove trapped food. Hold a cold compress on your cheek. Don't put aspirin on the gum. Call us.

For Knocked-Out Tooth

Pick it up by the crown, never the root, and rinse it without scrubbing. Try to put it back in the socket. If you can't, keep it in milk and get to us within 30 to 60 minutes.

For A Broken Tooth Or Lost Crown

Save any pieces, rinse with warm water, and press gauze on any bleeding. Cover sharp edges with dental wax or sugar-free gum.

For Swelling

Cold compress and over-the-counter pain reliever. Get to us quickly. Infection can spread.

Call 911 or go to the ER first if swelling affects your breathing or swallowing, you've had a serious facial injury, or bleeding won't stop. These need emergency medical care before dental treatment.

Calm, Fast, Compassionate Care

The moment you call, our team springs into action: triaging your situation, getting you on the schedule, and walking you through what to do until you arrive.

  • Phone triage from a real person, not a recording
  • Same-day appointments for true emergencies
  • Pain management before any other treatment
  • Clear plan and written estimate before we proceed
  • Bilingual care: English & Español

Common Questions

What counts as a dental emergency?
Severe pain, knocked-out or broken teeth, lost crowns or fillings, dental abscess, swelling, or any injury to the mouth. When in doubt, call us. We'll help you decide if it's urgent.
Is a bad toothache a dental emergency?
A severe or persistent toothache, especially with swelling, fever, or pain that over-the-counter medicine won't relieve, should be treated as an emergency, as it can signal an infection that needs prompt care.
Should I go to the ER or a dentist?
Go to the ER or call 911 for swelling that affects breathing or swallowing, serious facial trauma, or bleeding that won't stop. For most dental problems, from a knocked-out tooth to a bad toothache, your dentist can help faster and for far less.
What should I do if my tooth gets knocked out?
Pick up the tooth by the crown, never the root, and rinse it gently without scrubbing. Try to place it back in the socket; if you can't, store it in a cup of milk and get to us within 30 to 60 minutes. Often the tooth can be saved, but time matters.
Can I get a same-day emergency dental appointment?
Yes. Call Cagigas Dental at (561) 814-2888, let us know it's an emergency, and we'll prioritize your visit and aim to see you the same day.
What if it's after-hours?
Call our number. We have an emergency protocol and will get you the care you need as soon as possible.
Will my insurance cover emergency care?
Most insurance plans cover emergency exams and necessary treatment. We'll verify your benefits and walk through any out-of-pocket costs before treatment.
How much does emergency dental care cost in West Palm Beach?
Cost depends on the treatment needed. We explain your treatment and cost before beginning, accept most major insurance, and offer flexible financing so cost never delays relief.
How far is Cagigas Dental from downtown West Palm Beach?
About six miles. Most patients arrive in 12 to 18 minutes by taking S Dixie Hwy or I-95 south to 10th Ave N in Lake Worth, and parking is free.
